Don’t forget your customer is not an AI (yet)

If we make a keyword research on Google Trends we will find that the term AI is always among top 3 searches on the Internet.

But Is AI so relevant in business world?

We agree with the potential of generative AI, Machine Learning and Deep learning algorithms, are changing the rules of many Industries.

Our team also uses so called AI everyday, from isolated small tasks as sentence translations to KPI dashboard creation among others.

AI is here, in a way or another, there is no doubt of it, and if you are business owner, entrepreneur or you just lead industrial processes you have to adapt to it, sooner than later.

Because AI is a TOOL, yes, written in Capital letters. Don’t be afraid of it.

Isn’t it a bit (or a lot) of Hype around the word Artificial Intelligence?

In our opinion, AI became a marketing keyword that not in every case is fairly used with the implementation level those advertisers mean to have.

We have the feeling that in many cases companies are more focused on surfing the wave of Marketing of AI without paying attention to the real added value they can offer using those tools.

We find companies and state institutions very worried about how to use the most posh Apps or tools, and the mere presence of the phrase «AI-powered» in their promotional materials significantly boosts their satisfaction.

We also notice these same organizations undertaking a «digitalization process» for the paper business cards they’ve accumulated over the past 20 years. While this is a positive step, it’s essential to remain focused on our company’s core mission!

AI plays a crucial role, and your customers will leverage it for various purposes. This can include crafting the ideal sales copy for their tomato soup products, or analyzing and comparing if your offer is better than the competitors’ one.

Who makes the purchase decision?

But at the end, don’t forget that the purchase or sales decision is made by a decision maker person or a group of people and the agreement will be signed by someone with their own unique circumstances., at least still in 2024.

Remember that  in order to have a legally binding contract at least 2 parties should manifest their intent to be legally bound by the terms of a sales-purchase agreement. International regulations do not allow yet machines to sign without human interaction.

AI is just a very smart assistant analyzing data and providing recommendations.

However, it’s still essential to grasp our customers’ motivations. We need to listen empathetically to their needs through genuine dialogue and address their challenges so they will opt for our solution. Thus, we cannot forget about the importance of person-to-person interactions.

Moral of this story has been given at the title of the article. Maybe in few years, before Elon Musk will reach Mars, things will change and no person will be involved on the business decision making process, but so far our experience shows us that is more important to focus on adding real value to customer than having the Ultra Super AI powered tool on you marketing and sales brochure.

We believe AI is a valuable tool, but if you’re a business owner or work in customer relations, remember to keep the people on the other side of the sales-purchase equation in mind.

As a tech-loving team, we’re preparing more articles related to business and AI, so stay tuned in the coming weeks. We’d love to hear your comments, so feel free to share your thoughts!
